Nar-Phu & Mustang Trek via Teri-La Pass

Overview
The trek takes you through a variety of cultures: Hindu, Buddhists and over the several high passes. The area is off –the-beaten trail just before and after the Teri la Pass. It is a trek of great adventure. We will trek through this spectacular, surreal country in the most ecologically responsible manner, respecting the land and the culture. We will use horses and mules to carry our gear and stay in lodges and tented camps as we travel. Our guides are local people who are highly experienced in ensuring that our trek is smooth and that we have the maximum opportunity to fully experience and appreciate this ancient culture and extreme terrain.

Itinerary
On arrival in Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be met by our staff from Himalayan Envpro Treks. After formal greetings you will be transferred to your pre-booked hotel. Then you will be briefed about your trip. You’ll have rest of the day at leisure. There will be a welcome dinner in hotel restaurant.
Overnight: Hotel Meal: DinnerToday you have a short sightseeing of Monkey Temple (Swayambhunath) and return to hotel for trek preparation and last minute shopping for the trek.
Overnight: Hotel Meal: BreakfastWe depart hotel after breakfast at 0700 hrs. Drive along the Prithvi Highway along the Douthern Bank of the Trishuli river in a east-west direction then at Muglin the halfway point of Pokhara-Kathmandu Highway, we turn right following the road on the west bank of the Marsyangdi River to a town called Dumre. At Dumre we take the right fork head to Besisahar again along the west bank of the Trishuli river. On arrival at Besisahar we shall carry our small daybagto Khudi for 2 hrs. Then it is nice and easy walk to Bhulbhule.
Overnight: Lodge Meal: Breakfast , Lunch , DinnerThis morning we cross the Ngadi River by way of a high suspension bridge and continue along the east bank of the Marsyangdi River then up to the settlement of Bahundanda. The route takes us through the villages of Ngadi and Lampata and to the north-east we are treated to some stunning views of Manaslu (8156m). From Bahundanda we then descend to a stream, before climbing to the village of Lili Bir, from where we continue to follow the trail high above the river. The track then descends to another bridge, at Syange (1190m), where we cross over to the western side of the Marsyangdi and hike up a steep trail to the ancient village of Jagat.
Overnight: Lodge Meal: Breakfast , Lunch , DinnerTrek from Jagat into Dharapani (approx. walking time 5.5hrs). Ascend through Chamje, then crossing the Marshyangdi River via suspension bridge, before following the trail to Sathtalle village, before arriving in Tal Phedi where you'll stop for lunch. You'll cross the river a number of times after lunch as the route take you into Dharapani.
Overnight: Lodge Meal: Breakfast , Lunch , DinnerFrom Dharapani you’ll reach Bagarchap. On November 1995 a land slide swept away the village, killing locals and tourists. Continue a little further, and you’ll reach a place called Timang Located 2350 meters high and we stop here for a lunch. We then resume our walk to Koto that will take 2 hrs.
Overnight: Lodge Meal: Breakfast , Lunch , DinnerIn the morning, we register our restricted area permit at the Police Check Post. Then we trek through the River bank of Soti Khola again through wonderful pine forests, streams and suspension and reach Dharmasala. We have our packed lunch on the way. We then continue the trek through forests and ascend steeply towards Meta village. Finally we arrive on the Tibetan Plateau where we have a very good view of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal.
Overnight: Lodge Meal: Breakfast , Lunch , DinnerMeta is a winter settlement of Nar, from here the valley opens wide. Today, it is a great trek in the Himalayas. We trek down to the bridge that spans a deep, contoured and narrow gorge and climb all the way back up again. The scenery is very stunningly majestic. Below us lies Gyanlbo Kumbu Gompa, built in 1650, and Satte Gompa, both are now empty. When we reach the top of the hill there is welcome gate to Nar. Another line of wonderfully painted, bamboo topped chortens and a large tiered chorten before turning the corner and be rewarded with sublime views of Nar, the rolling patterns of the surrounding barley and mustard fields, four colorful gompas and the snow-peaks looming overhead. This is our lunch camp. We shall have lunch first then explore the village.
Overnight: Lodge Meal: Breakfast , Lunch , DinnerAfter breakfast, we start our exploration of the beautiful Nar village. The ancient village has very few residents living in stone houses. It is also the second acclimatization day during the trek. It's vital to adjust with the diminishing air before climbing the pass so rather than climbing additional height; the day will be spent doing side outings and different exercises that assistance during the time spent acclimatization. We shall also have a glance at the culture, tradition, and lifestyle of the Nar village. We shall then return to the teahouse and prepare for the trip the next day. We will stay here at teahouse in Nar village.
Overnight: Lodge Meal: Breakfast , Lunch , DinnerLeaving Nar we descend to the valley of the Lapse Khola and crossing the river, we climb to camp in Yak pastures, overnight we camp at Lhapse Khola.
Overnight: Lodge Meal: Breakfast , Lunch , DinnerThe trail follows the Lapse Khola high above the river keeping approximately to the 4400 m contour with ascents and descents to negotiate several side valleys. Towards the end of the days trek we meet the river and Stay overnight in camp.
Overnight: Camping Meal: Breakfast , Lunch , DinnerStill following the main Lapse Khola we climb up to a high camp below the pass. We cross the Teri La with tremendous views over the Himalaya and north to Tibet. We descend to a camp beside the Pasphu Khola.
Overnight: Camping Meal: Breakfast , Lunch , DinnerWe have a long day of downhill but still with several climbs to negotiate tributary streams. Today we reach Yakpa in the Upper Kali Gandaki Valley.
Overnight: Camping Meal: Breakfast , Lunch , DinnerAnother long descent today to reach the village of Tangge in Upper Mustang. Tangge is a fascinating place and this is a great opportunity for an insight into local life in this trans-Himalayan village. Stay overnight in camp on full board.
Overnight: Camping Meal: Breakfast , Lunch , DinnerDescending the valley of the Puyung Khola we reach the village of Yara Gaon, overnight we camp in Yara Goan
Overnight: Camping Meal: Breakfast , Lunch , DinnerWe trek to Dhe and have lunch then climb up the steep path to the high plateau. Nice easy walk on the plateau to Lo-Manthang.
Overnight: Camping Meal: Breakfast , Lunch , DinnerToday is a day for exploring in and around Lo Manthang, with its narrow alleyways and brightly painted houses and chortens. Today, we are free to explore the fascinating walled city of Lo Manthang. Established in the early 1400s by King Ame Pal, the city contains about 150 houses, as well as residences for its many lamas. There are four major temples within the city and one of these, Champa Lhakang, contains a huge clay statue of Buddha as well as elaborates mandalas painted on the walls. The king's palace is an imposing building in the center of the city and is occupied by the current King and his Tibetan Queen. Although his duties are largely ceremonial, the King is respected by the people. Throughout the kingdom, the villagers continue to seek his advice regarding many issues.
Overnight: Camping Meal: Breakfast , Lunch , DinnerThis is an opportunity to visit two other villages on your return trek. The trail climbs steadily to the pass marked by a cairn, offering a last glimpse of Lo- Manthang. The trail contours past two small ridges and valleys and across a ridge at 4070m then descends across to the south through two more valleys, meadows and a stream. The trail then makes a long rocky descent to Gekar. LO Gekar Gompa is older than Samye Gompa in Tibet and one of the oldest Gompa in Nepal. Then crosses a ridge after a little climbing and drops down steeply to Thamar village. The trail descends along the side of the stone walls and fields of extensive villages, then climbs to a ridge. It is a short descent to Ghami.

Overnight: Camping Meal: Breakfast , Lunch , DinnerThe Chele La (3630m) to Chele,where we cross the upper Kali Gandaki on a metal bridge, then meander through Chukksang and Tangbe to finally reach Kagbeni (2810 m..)
Overnight: Camping Meal: Breakfast , Lunch , DinnerAfter breakfast we trek along the east bank of the Kaligandaki river, visiting first Eklo Bhatti then down to Jomsom. Sunglasses are necessary to walk against the wind. This valley is also famous for its ammonite fossils. After lunch we have a rest and confirm our flights to Pokhara.
Overnight: Lodge Meal: Breakfast , Lunch , DinnerThis morning we pack our bags and get ready for the exciting mountain scenic flight to Pokhara. The flight transit through between two high peaks Mt. Annapurna (8,091 m) and Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167 m) and upon arrival at Pokhar we shall check in for Kathmandu flight and transfer to Hotel
Overnight: Hotel Meal: BreakfastThis morning we will visit important World Heritage sites. They are: Swayambhu, Bouddhanath and Pashupatinath Temple. In the afternoon there will be free time for you to do shopping and explore Thamel.. We shall enjoy our farewell dinner with cultural show at the evening.
