Himalayan Envpro Treks & Expedition

Machhapuchhre Trek and Mardi Himal Climb

Overview

The highlight of the GMT Trekking is to explore the hidden valley below the towering Mt Machhapuchhare and to climb Mardi Himal, a technical peak, to enjoy the closest view of the Southern Face.

Annapurna Himalaya Ramge with its Machhapuchhare dominates the skyline of Pokhara Valley which makes it unarguably one of the most beautiful places on earth.

The towering Machhapuchhare has Karuwa, Mrisa, Dhiprang, Rumja, Tuse, Lamsal, Kangmang villages of Ghachok at its base on the western bank of the Seti Khola. There live almost all castes of  Brahmin casted, Gurungs, Pun Magars and Tamangs. Although all are Nepalese, their way of living is typical of their ethnicity. So very rich culture to be seen and learnt.

The trek takes you through this multicultural community, through the wilderness of hauntingly beautiful forest and after 3 days of hiking you arrive at the ridge of Bunga from where a vista of extensive hidden valley opens all the way to the base of Machhapuchhare. A days of challenging walk will take to Machhapuchhare Base Camp East and this is also Mardi Himal High Camp at 4750m. From Khomein to MBCE you will see all sorts of medicinal flowering plants whose roots fetch a very high price.

Pilgrimage to Dangdung Khola and Tinsir also use this GMT trail. The locals kept the area restricted to foreigners until recent years because they regard it the abode of Lord Shiva known as KATHASUN . Now the entire community of Machhapuchhare Village Municipality has requested the government to open the hitherto unclimbed virgin peak to for EXPEDITIONS.
