Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be met at the airport and brought to your downtown hotel. While in Kathmandu we will take you on a fascinating tour of the city, visiting Buddhist and Hindu shrines reflecting ancient local traditions. There will be time to explore the city's many charms on your own as well. A traditional Nepali welcome dinner will follow shortly after a pre-trek briefing by the trekking staff manager. Overnight stay will be in the hotel in Kathmandu. Overnight: Hotel Buddy or Hotel Kathmandu Grand or similar.

After breakfast we depart from our hotel to visit 1. Swayambhu Stupa , known as monkey temple because of monkeys in abundance. 2. Patan visit includes Pim Bahal, Golden Temple, Kumbheswar (Pashupatinath in Patan), Banglamukhi ( consort of lord Shiva), Patan Durbar Square with incredible wood carvings of various temples and the palace and finally visit the living goddess 3. We then drive to Bouddhanath, the largest stupa in the world and have lunch in a roof top café. Finally we return to our hotel for trek preparation. Overnight in Kathmandu.

We leave Kathmandu in the morning for Syabrubesi, a village which is also the starting point for treks into the Langtang valley. Our journey will be on a winding road through frequent switchbacks. On a clear day we get to enjoy outstanding views of Manaslu, Annapurna and Ganesh Himal. Our trek for today ends with a descent into the small village of Syabrubesi.

After breakfast, we begin our trek to Syabrubesi along the Langtang Khola. Our trail ascends and descends simultaneously through oak and rhododendron forests. After crossing a bridge over the Langtang Khola (small river), we ascend on a steep trail which will lead us to the Lama Hotel. Overnight in Lama Hotel.

We continue ascending from Lama Hotel and enjoy the mountain landscape with abundant waterfalls on our journey. As we reach the green meadows of Ghoda Tabela, we begin to see the white peaks of the Langtang range. We walk on a trail that continues to climb up the widening valley, passing a few temporary settlements used by herders who bring their livestock here in the summer. In spring, the forest here is covered with rhododendrons, Nepal's national flower. We pass a Buddhist monastery before reaching the Langtang village. Overnight in Langtang village.

We leave the village and climb gradually through small villages and yak pastures as the valley opens up to reveal amazing mountain views. The mountain to our left is the Langtang Lirung and the one before us is the Ganchempo. We cross several small streams and moraines before reaching Kyanjin Gompa, a small monastery and the government-operated cheese factory. We reach the Kyanjin village by lunchtime which will give us ample time to acclimatize to the high altitude.

Today is set aside for acclimatization which is very important in order to have a safe journey into the mountains. However, it is also recommended that we keep ourselves busy by hiking around the area. Therefore, we will either make an excursion to Lagsisha Kharka which a whole day walk to and back, or climb to Cherku-Ri and return to Kyanjin Gompa. We will get some great views of the nearby peaks including Dorje Lakpa and Shisha Pangma..

We trek along a rocky glacier trail to reach the Yala Base Camp. From the base camp we get astounding views of Ganchenpo, Naya Kang, Tserko Ri, and Yala Peak. After reaching the base camp, our climbing guides will conduct a basic training on climbing techniques including the best way to use climbing gears such as ropes, ice pick, harness and crampons.

We start our summit to Yala Peak early in the morning. From the summit we get panoramic views of the mighty Himalayas including Shishapangma, Dorje Lakpa, Ganchenpo, Naya Kang, Tserko Ri, Langtang Lirung and others. After spending some time at the summit, we head back to the base camp.

We retrace our steps to the Langtang village.

Again we take a relatively familiar route, through woods and along the river valley passing Bamboo Lodge, where we join an uphill trail which will lead us to the Sherpa village of Thulo Syabru. Overnight in Thulo Syabru.

Passing Schools and gompas the trail ascent through the forest of hemlock and oak until trail Dursagang (2660m). Then the trail gradually ascends through forest of Sing Gompa. Sing Gompa is popular for Yak cheese factory and Buddhist monastery.

The trail climbs gradually up to Lauirbina Yak (3920m). From Lauirbina Yak, you can see panoramic mountain views of Nepal and Tibet Himalayan range. Then continue trek up to a small temple with a statue of Sakyamuni and further climbing you can see good views of Saraswati kunda and Bhairav Kunda and reach to Gosaikund. The lake is surrounded by mountains on almost all sides and has a great ensemble of nine other lakes to accompany it. Every year during Janai Purnima in August, hundreds of Hindu pilgrims visit the lake for a holy bath. The large rock at the center of the lake is said to be the remains of a Shiva shrine. Overnight in Gosaikunda.

The trail traverses the northern side of Gosainlunda Lake and climbs on a rocky trail marked with cairns towards a pass. Passing three more small lakes the trail finally reaches Lauribina Yak after about 90 minutes. Take some time to explore the surrounding hills for some fine views including over large Surya Kunda (Sun lake) just to the South-West. From the pass, the trail descends along side a stream through alpine country for 45 mins to High Camp, a very basic seasonal lodge at Bera Goth. Don’t take the upper trail that leads Eastward just beyond here. This is a direct route to Tharepathi that has a several various steep paths that are extremely dangerous when there is any snow on the trail, and there is no food or accommodation until you reach Tharepati. Local people, and the National Park administration advice against taking this trail. Follow the lower, safer trail along the rough, knee-busting route that descends for an hour down the middle of the valley to Phedi, 3 hrs from Gosaiukunda. The basic hotel Dawa Baby at Phedi is a descend place for lunch, a continue downhill for a couple of minutes to the events simpler Surya Kunda Phedi, beside the Tasmer Khola. Accommodation at both places is very basic. From Phedi the route drops to stream then climbs through scrub bamboo towards crest at 3750 m. The trail crosses the head of the valley on a rocky trail – particularly hard on ankles and toes, descending on a lower part (look for the arrows) across moraines to a dry stream (3620 m) at a base of steep 70 m climb up eroded scree to the Kasturi Danda (Musk Deer Ridge). From here the trail descends for an hour through forest, climbing in and out of ravines below towering cliffs of Thane Danda. On one of these ridges look for some prayer flags, just beyond this is Gopte where we shall stay for overnight.

From Ghopte the trail continues its descent through rhododendron forests filled with the calls of a variety of mountain birds, the descent reaches a stream at 3010m. From here it again climbs back up to Tharepati at 3600m. We stop here for lunch. After lunch we trek steeply down a ravine and enter beautiful mixed forest almost immediately. After descending a minor ridge the track enters looks like a minor river bed. There is a kharka to the south do not go to this. The vegetation changes to large firs then to oaks and rhododendron crossing over a stream on a suspension bridge, the trail makes a short final climb to reach the prosperous Sherpa village of Melamchigaon . There are more than 100 houses loosely scattered around the gompa on a plain with good cropping land. The villagers have many cows and crossbreeds; most are kept at higher pastures in the summer and simple jungle camps for the rest of the year.

Today after breakfast we shall board a local bus to Kathmandu visiting Tarkeghyang and Timbu. We shall stop at Melamchi Bazzar for lunch then drive to Kathmandu.

We spend the rest of the day packing and maybe catching up on some last-minute souvenir shopping. In the evening, we celebrate the successful completion of our journey with a farewell dinner.
